Alhaji Ismaila Isa Funtua, who served as the former President of the Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN), and a one-minister has passed away, OYOGist.com reports.
Ismaila Isa Funtua was a close associate of the President, Muhammadu Buhari. He served as a Second Republic minister under Late President Shehu Shagari under the ministry of water resources.
He was 78.
Isa Funtua was reportedly sick and was said to have driven himself to the hospital before passing away. Reports said he started feeling sick around 4PM on Monday and decided to pay a visit to the hospital. He later died in the evening.
Malam Isa Funtua will be buried by 1PM on Tuesday.

President Buhari’s spokesperson, Garba Shehu, in a statement, said that the President received the news of the passing of his longtime friend and associate, Malam Isma’ila Isa Funtua with “deep sadness.”
