OYOGist.com has learned that due to the upcoming gubernatorial crisis in Edo state, the candidate of the two major political party, PDP and APC are really tackling themselves with various talks and rumours. The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Osagie Ize Iyamu has alleged Obaseki of giving 5Million Naira only to the police as security vote in his 600Million Naira security salary.
He said this during a live broadcast on his facebook page. Ize Iyamu pledged that the police will no more suffer under him as he is ready to do anything to prove himself as a good Governor and the best that will ever rule Edo state. In his statement, he said:
“The present government has not been able to show any serious commitment to the security funding of the state. Every month, the Governor collects N600m as security vote and gives the police N5m only. That does not show commitment to security. N5m is not even enough to fuel vehicles”.
Ize Iyamu in his statement said those words and in it, there is hope of him becoming the best Edo state governor. He also blamed Obaseki for his attachment to insecurity, and that Edo state is one of the state in Nigeria with little combat facilities. He said:
“In this age, what is our investment in technology? Edo state might be the only state in the South-South that does not have trackers that can be used to trace kidnappers. The Government must show sincerity in combating crime”.
