OYOGist.com has learned that the Nigerian Federal Government has on Sunday, the 12th day of July, 2020 handed over the National Theatre at Iganmu, Lagos State to the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Bankers Committee for rehabilitation.
The structure located at Iganmu, Lagos State was constructed in 1976 and is one of the pride of the nation, having hosted many national and international events.
During the handover ceremony of the facility which was constructed in 1976, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, said the bankers were targeting one million job creation from the project in the next five years.
The handover ceremony witnessed the presence of dignitaries including the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Recall that it had been indicated few weeks ago that the Federal government was planning to hand the facility over to the Central Bank of Nigeria for rehabilitation work.
