OYOGist.com has learned that Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo, the Chief Press Secretary to former governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha has raised alarm of what he alleged was a plot by Governor Hope Uzodinma, to use the judicial probe panel instituted to investigate the Okorocha administration as a way to humiliate the former governor and his family. Onwuemeodo made this known in a statement he signed, on behalf of the former governor.
Onwuemodo stated, that the reports making the rounds that a court declined Okorocha’s request to stop his probe by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission was not untrue.
Onwuemodo stated that the court presided over by Justice Ahmed Mohammed did not decline neither did it refused to stop the probe of Senator Rochas Okorocha by EFCC and the Imo State Government. Onwuemodo stated that the case would not have been adjourned to July 14, if the claims against Okorocha were true.
Onwuemodo further stated, that the presding Judge Mohammed Ahmed had gotten Mr Joseph Matthew, who was representative of the Imo State Attorney General, to make an oral undertaking, that the probe panel would not sit again during the pendency of the matter.
Okorocha had raised alarm, that the probe panels had been set up to embarass and humiliate him and his family.
Okorocha and Hope Uzodinma, have been locked in a supremacy war, over who was in charge of the party in the state. Uzodinma backs the Nlemigbo faction of the party, while Okorocha backs the Daniel Nwafor faction.
