OYOGist.com has learned that Rev. Fr Anslem Adodo, the Director of the Pax Herbal Clinic and Research Laboratories, Ewu in Edo State, has disclosed that NAFDAC has finally approved their herbal remedy for the treatment of symptoms associated with COVID-19.
According to him, prior to obtaining NAFDAC’s official approval, the commission had given a tacit approval for the drug to be used, which explains why the herbal remedy bore the disclaimer, “these claims have not yet been verified by NAFDAC.”
But Adodo in a memo on Friday had said: “After a series of screening, spanning eight weeks, NAFDAC has today approved our Paxherbal COVID-19 herbal drug, Paxherbal Cugzin, for public use.”
Paxherbal Cugzin, with NAFDAC number: A7-4358L is in capsules and are contained in a container of (80) 290 milligram capsules, with each having Garcinia Kola, Curcuma Longa and Zingiber Officinale as active ingredients.
According to Adodo, Paxherbal Cugzin, which is for treating coronavirus-related symptoms is the first of its kind to be so approved by the National Food and Drugs Administration Control (NAFDAC) and presently the only one.
