Just few days ago after it was announced that the Governor of Delta state, Ifeanyi Okowa and his wife, Edith Okowa, tested positive for coronavirus, another Governors wife has been confirmed positive for the virus, oyogist.com reports.
The first Lady of Benue state, Eunice Ortom, issued a statement last night confirming she has tested positive for coronavirus.
The statement which was gathered by reporters reads in part, “A few moments ago this (Friday) evening, I received my result from the tests earlier carried out on me and others by NCDC personnel on routine screening at House, Makurdi which returned that I and my son, and some staff are COVID-19 positive.
“We have from this moment, gone into total isolation as required by the protocols and would immediately begin the management treatment as advised by medical experts.
The Ondo state Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu and his wife, Betty, were also confirmed to have contracted coronavirus just recently and gone into isolation. While the commissioner for health in Ondo state, Dr Wahab Adegbenro, who was buried yesterday, was reported to have died due to coronavirus complications.
