Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has visited some of the areas that were affected by flood caused by the heavy downpour witnessed across Ibadan on Tuesday night, OYOGist.com has gathered.
The affected areas include Oke Omi, Ikumapayi, Olodo and Sawmill Bridge Onipepeye, Old Ife road in Ibadan.

While inspecting the damage caused by the flood, the Governor revealed that the drainage master plan for Ibadan is currently being executed under the Ibadan Urban Flood Management Project (IUFMP).
The governor cites an example of a river in the sawmill is currently being dredged under the IUFMP scheme, but noted that the sawmill bridge is undersized and he has requested the LG Caretaker Chairman to write for approval to enable the construction of a proper bridge to commence.
Concerning structures that are erected along the waterways, the governor said that such structures would be removed. He, however, said the properties will be enumerated to enable the relocation of the residents.
