The Economic and Financial Crime Commission has reportedly stormed Umuahia, Abia state capital, to seal off Abia Mall (ShopRite), Benac Hotels other choice properties on allegations of fraudulent practices.
The calm capital city of Umuahia, the Abia state capital was yesterday stormed by the members of the Economic and Finance Crimes Commission.
As at press time, the sealing of choice properties in the capital city is still on going but the Estate, near Isi gate, initially hosting Umuahia main market, ShopRite, and Benac Hotels, near the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia, BCA, is now under the control of EFCC.
It could be recalled that earlier this year a new generation bank had sealed the same Abia Mall with court order. After some weeks the order was vacated and business continued at the mall. In wake of yesterday, stern looking officers of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission was seen sealing off Abia Mall and other juicy properties in the state capital of Abia State.
