The executive governor of Rivers State, his Excellency Nyesom Wike has laid bare his mind on the recent harassment that was melted out on the Deputy Governor of Ondo state, Agboola Ajayi who was reportedly prevented from leaving the Ondo state government house by the state commissioner of Police Bolaji Salami on the orders of the Governor Akeredolu, before the deputy finally announced his decamping to the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
The governor who decried the silence of the Nigeria Governors forum in the event of things in the Ondo state, stated that it doesn’t matter which political party is on the side or error, but that the country’s constitutional on human rights should be invoked on all those responsible for the harassment.
Wike, while addressing newsmen in Port-Harcourt the state capital, recalled how a commissioner of Police in Rivers was removed for joining forces with him in the fight against the spread of the deadly corona virus disease in his state, questioned why a commissioner of Police would be meddling in matters of politics in the state.
The governor called out on a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr. Femi Falana for his unusual silence on this matter, while insisting that assuming it was a Rivers State issue, Falana would have reacted even without knowing the fundamentals of the case. Wike alleged that the human rights activist cum lawyer is only quiet because the governor of Ondo state is his friend.

Wike! Action man, no one’s human rights deserve to be violated politically affiliated or not. What they did to the deputy governor isn’t right.
