The ongoing unrest in the All progressive Congress political party has taken another turn as a party leader in Rivers State has been suspended. The Rivers state chapter of the All progressive Congress political party (APC) has reportedly suspended its acting chairman, Mr Igo Aguma over an alleged disobedience to the spirit and letters of the high court judgement that appointed him as chairman. Mr Igo Aguma was suspended on Monday June 22nd, 2020.
However, another prominent party member in the Rivers state chapter by the name Sokonte Davies has been appointed as acting caretaker in place of the suspended Aguma.
Mr Igo Aguma’s suspension is however coming at a time when the party is facing stiff crisis that is seeking to destroy the bond and unity that existed between party members in time past.
Recall that the suspension of the National chairman of the All progressive Congress political party, Adams Oshomole was recently upheld by the rulling of the appeal court.
This situation however has also led to an increased tension between party members on who to replace the suspended national chairman as the self imposed national chairman of the All progressive Congress political party, Mr Giadom was also suspended by the Rivers state chapter of the APC.
