On January 3, a United States of America drone strike assassinated General Qassim Soleimani, the leader of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. Soleimani’s death led to increased tension in the middle east between the U.S. and Iran, with some people even going as far as to say a possible world war 3 may be on the horizon.

Tension began to die down When Iran attacked a U.S. military base in Iraq with missiles, with the missile attack resulting in the accidental shooting down of a Ukrainian airline which led to the death of over 200 souls on board.

The latest news on the incident comes from a televised news conference on Tuesday, where it was revealed by an Iranian judiciary spokesman reportedly said that the government will execute a CIA spy who provided information to Israel and U.S. intelligence services about the whereabouts of the slain commander Qassem Soleimani.

“Mahmoud Mousavi-Majd, one of the spies for the CIA and Mossad has been sentenced to death. He gave the whereabouts of martyr Soleimani to our enemies,” said Gholamhossein Esmaili in a televised news conference.
