The President of Burundi, Pierre Nkurunziza, has died of ‘cardiac arrest’ at 55, the country’s government announced on Tuesday.
OYOGist.com is aware that the leader was admitted to the hospital on Saturday and his health saw improvement on Monday, but he had suffered a ‘cardiac arrest’ on Tuesday, and died after efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Pierre Nkurunziza was meant to step down from government in August.
