OYOGist.com has learned that Super Eagles of Nigeria and Partizan Belgrade of Serbia striker Sadiq Umar has said he has been fortunate enough to play under many world class football managers in the world and they’ve been able to influence and help him to be better striker but he learnt nothing from former Liverpool FC star Steven Gerrard when he was on loan at Glasgow Rangers in Scotland.

Sadiq Umar made this known to the newsmen after scoring his 17 goals of the season for Partizan Belgrade in their 4-1 victory over Mladost Lucani in Serbian league. The former Glasgow Rangers forward has been superb for Partizan Belgrade this season and he has been rated among the top strikers in Serbia league this season.

In an interview with Owngoalnigeria.com, the AS Roma loanee praised all his previous coaches for their efforts in his life except Rangers coach Steven Gerrard who he was unable to learn anything from.

“I am seeing the efforts of the coaches that I have worked under. It’s really what I can say that is behind my confidence in front of goal. I have been fortunate enough to work with some of the best coaches in the world.”

The 23 years old continued by saying he was able to pick up something different from his former club managers except from Rangers coach Steven Gerrard.

“For everywhere I have played, I have picked up something new except at Rangers where I learnt nothing from the coach. That was a very funny phase in my career.” He concluded.

Sadiq had his worst ever football campaign when he was on loan at Glasgow Rangers of Scotland from AS Roma under Steven Gerrard, where he spent almost much of his time on the bench before his 12 months loan deal that supposed to be ended in June was terminated in January 2019.

Sadiq Umar has scored the total number of 17 goals and 13 assists for Partizan Belgrade in all competitions this season and he was named among the best players at the group stage of the 2019/2020 Europa league. Sadiq was named in the attack with Glasgow Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos as the best strikers of the competition.
