The Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, has finally revealed the identity of the company in Ibadan South West Local Government responsible for the mass COVID-19 cases in the state, OYOGist.com has learned.
In daily COVID-19 Task Force Update for May 19, 2020, the Governor announced that there were 6 new COVID-19 cases in the state. There he, he revealed that the 6 new cases were from the company, named iSON Xperiences.
iSON Xperiences services mobile telecommunication users by providing customer care services to companies in the mobile telecommunications industry.
The company has over 3,000 members in its staff.
The Governor revealed that iSON Xperience has been shut and will be decontaminated.
On the 16th of May, 2020, Governor Seyi Makinde revealed that 30 of the 31 cases in Oyo State were from one organization. The following day, which was the 17th of May, the Governor tweeted that 8 new cases have been recorded and all were from the same company.
On the 18th, another 19 cases were recorded from the same company, prompting the public to mount preasure on the Governor to reveal the identity of the company.
Today, the Governor officially revealed the identity of the company, after confirming another 6 cases. This brings the total cases from iSON Xperience to 63.
