News reaching OYOGist.com confirms that the immediate past GMD of Nigerian National Petroleum Commission (NNPC), Maikanti Baru is dead at the age of 60.
Baru died in a hospital at Abuja on Friday night, after battling an undisclosed illness.
His death was announced through a Press Release shared on the official NNPC twitter page on Saturday.
Maikanti Baru served as the GMD of the state-owned oil company between July 4, 2016, to July 7, 2019. He was the 18th GMD of NNPC.
