The reason behind the disengage is that, the initial plan is to engage them for 24 month. But, Batch A beneficiaries have spent over 40 months already. The programme has enrolled 500 ,000 beneficiaries thus far, 200 ,000 from Batch A in September 2016 and 300 ,000 from Batch B which kicked off in August 2018.
The current batches has over stayed, denying other who should have enrolled to benefit from the program. It will definitely affect the beneficiaries as the unemployment index rate of Nigeria currently at 23.1 % may rise to over 30%. Although, the date for termination of appointment is yet to be released officially.
