One of Buhari’s prominent media aides, Bashi Ahmad has come under fire after being exposed for promising to contact those that can influence a judge’s decision in an alleged rape case, OYOGist.com has learned.
The contact of the suspect, Hammad Yusuf Saleh, reached out to Bashir on Twitter begging the President’s media aide to do something about the rape case involving Yunusa Yellow.
Yunusa Yellow is under trial for allegedly abducting, kidnapping and raping a minor.
Bashir then replied in Hausa saying, “I do not have the power to do anything against the judgment of the court, but I will try to contact those whom I think are capable.”
Nigerians on Twitter quickly caught wind of this and started dragging him on Twitter, and calling for his resignation as Buhari’s media assistant, given the blemish this cast on the President’s anti-corruption goal.

Bashir, after coming under serious heat for his response to Hammad Yusuf, tried to distance himself from the statement by claiming that he has no prior knowledge of the case before responding to it.
