TheRock, Dwayne Johnson, has written a touching tribute to mourn his late friend, Shad Gaspard, whose body was found in a California beach, OYOGist.com reports.
The Pro Wrestler was declared dead from drowning, after Police found his body at the beach, days after a missing person alert was sent out on his account.
“This one hurts. Great guy. My deepest condolences and love to Shad Gaspard’s wife, son and family,” Dwayne Johnson wrote about his former colleague.
“Shad drowned in the ocean, but not before instructing lifeguards to save his 10yr old son first.
“That’s the love of a father. This is a tough one to process. Love and light to Shad’s family.
“And your warrior spirit lives on through your son,” TheRock wrote in an Instagram post he shared, with a picture of himself and the late wrestler.
Shad Gaspard went missing on Sunday after he went swimming with his son. He, however, managed to keep his 10-year-old son, Aryeh, alive with the help of other swimmers after the wave-current became overwhelming.
Authorities found Shad’s body on the beach on Wednesday after First Responders found a body that matched a Sunday’s missing person description.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department’s Lifeguard Division tweeted that they responded to a report of a body found on the shoreline of the beach that matched Shad’s.
Shad, 39, retired from the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in 2010.
In a similar event, Wrestler and top Hollywood Dwayne Johnson has thanked fans and supporters for the support he received after the loss of his dad in January.
