Chelsea have produced a lot of talent from their academy, although not many of them have been able to make the transition to the first team. Every season, loads of players are sent out in loan, while some youngsters are eventually sold.
Sometimes, these players who were sold go on to blossom and attract a lot of interest from different clubs, for example, Nathan Ake, Bertrand Traore, and so on.
Another example of such a player is Sassuolo winger Jeremie Boga. The former Blues youngster was sold after he couldn’t make the transition to the first team, but has been in sensational form for Sassuolo in the Italian Serie A this season.

He had scored 8 goals and provided 2 assists for the Italian side, and was starting to garner interest from some top clubs, including Hus former club Chelsea.
The Blues have an advantage in the chase to sign the youngster, as they inserted a buy back clause when they sold him to Sassuolo. It seems they are ready to make use of that advantage. According to reports, Chelsea are set to activate the buy back clause for former player Jeremie Boga.
The Blues sold Boga to Sassuolo for £3.6m in 2018, but inserted a buy back clause in the deal. The buy back clause is believed to be around €15m, a figure which would be considered a bargain considering the 23-year old’s sensational form for Sassuolo this season.
