“Lampard is not trusting me” – Christian Pulisic

The Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic joined Chelsea last summer and was to fill the gap Eden Hazard has left open.

He played and displayed excellenty well especially against Liverpool in the UEFA super cup last August but at some point he lost Lampards favour especially in September where he featured just once.

Pulisic admitted that this was one of his biggest challenges he then doubted if Frank Lampard really trusted his abilities.

He said : “I started in the preseason and after that I was benched, I thought that everything was ok maybe it’s just a game but I didn’t play for like six or seven games I felt like, I wasn’t starting, I wasn’t playing and Lampard wasn’t subbing me in”

“I went through it and was thinking,’ what am I doing wrong?’ he’s not trusting me as he’s picking other guys. That was difficult for me to work through”

“But finally I got a start which was the Burnley game then I thought” if I’m going to start, just go in and play don’t think.Sure enough against Burnley I scored a hat trick.”

“It’s crazy how right out of my biggest challenges came one of my biggest moments”.
