As the Coronavirus crisis deepens in Nigeria, with Anambra State witnessing its first confirmed COVID-19 index case yesterday, 11th of April, Innoson Motors, Nigeria’s first indigenous car manufacturer gave the state ambulance and relief materials to battle COVID-19 in the state, OYOGist.com has learned.
Several Nigerian businesses and wealthy individuals have continued to donate to the government in a bit to combat the COVID-19 menace.
With the donations from Innoson Motors to Anambra State government who witnessed its first cases yesterday, the state should be better equipped to reach coronavirus patients on time.
On Saturday, 11th of April, the company also donated, alongside the ambulance relief materials such as bags of rice to be distributed among villages in the state.

Presenting the bags of rice on Saturday 11th, April 2020, on behalf of Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma, Mr. Austin Manuel said that the distribution was one part of tens of Innoson’s contributions towards alleviating the effects of COVID-19 lockdown.
Mr. Austin Manuel urged all stakeholders within and beyond Nnewi, to support government efforts in the fight against the spread of coronavirus.
He advised the President-Generals who are representing their different communities in Nnewi, to ensure that the bags of rice are properly distributed to the less privileged.
Thanking Chief Innocent Chukwuma on behalf of Nnewi Community, the President-General of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, Chief Sir Ugochukwu Udemezu (Ifeneti) appreciated Innoson for his kinds gesture, noting that the bags of rice will help cushion the effects for the less privileged.
Those present during the distribution include; Vice President Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, Sir Fabian Obi, the Secretary-General of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, Barr. Obinna Ubah, the President of Uruagu Community, Chief Charlie Nwoye, the President of Nnewichi Community, Hon. CY. Okolo, and other community leaders and Nzuko-Ora Nnewi executive members.
Furthermore, Innoson Vehicles during the weekend extended its regard to its social media fans and followers for their numerous supports by giving out a small token of support to hundreds of families as it were able, to cushion the effects of COVID-19 lockdown.
Finally, Innoson Vehicles will continue to show support and solidarity to our Nation and Nigerians in these trying times as we all join hands to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.
