Sequel to the violation of stay-home order by thirty-four residents, a magistrate court sitting in Lagos has arraigned and sentenced all the 34 joggers to a one-month community service and 14 days quarantine at the Infectious Diseases Hospital, Yaba, Lagos State.
The decision was taken by the court after they plead guilty to violating the social distancing order. It should be noted that the court earlier sentenced a Nigerian actress, Funke Akindele, and her husband on a similar offense.
More than any other time, the recent actions by the Lagos state government have been commendable thus far. They have not only proven to be capable and competent but have also shown the significance of the stay-home order.
