OYOGist.com has learned that the Nigerian Police have released the Army personnel who killed Joseph Pessu on Thursday in Warri from their custody.
The Army identified as Sergeant Ilekura Samson Ajayi of the Nigerian Army 4 Brigade Benin, Edo State, with force number 02NA/52/3134.
Primary investigation show that Ajayi is attached to Operation Delta Save, 3 Battalion, Nigerian Army, Effurun Barracks, Warri.
And according to the investigation Ajayi is no longer with police detention at the area command in Warri.

Operation Delta Save says the release of the soldier from the Police detention doesn’t mean Ajayi is free and won’t face disciplinary actions from the Army Court martial.
Samson Ajayi put a family and community into mourning on Thursday morning when he shot dead Joseph Pessu at the Ugbuwangue axis of the NPA-Express Road in Delta State for violating the stay at home order by the Delta State government.
