The Oyo State Covid-19 Task Force has on Saturday confirmed a new case of coronavirus in the state, reports reaching OYOGist.com confirmed.
Prof Temitope Alonge, the Acting Chairman of Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force, on Saturday 4th of April, made the announcement on behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde who chairs the committee.
According to the report, the latest confirmed coronavirus case is a close contact of the second confirmed case that later developed symptoms.
The patient has been moved to one of the isolation centers in the state, while activities at the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) are now in full swing in order to accommodate the “evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic”
Prof Temitope also discloses that with the index case in the state already discharged, the other seven cases remain stable.
OYOGist.com recalls that Governor Seyi Makinde has been in self-isolation following his test result that came back positive for COVID-19.
Prof Temitope revealed that the Governor, Seyi Makinde, is impressed with the efforts of the committee. He also revealed that the Oyo State government has received donations totaling N125 million Naira in cash and kind.
He affirmed that the state govt has received donations amounting to N125,000,000 in cash and other materials.
