Breaking his silence on the Coronavirus pandemic since its outbreak in Nigeria, the country’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has reacted to the deadly infectious disease by sharing a post on his social media, OYOGist.com reports.

The Vice President, while talking about the pandemic for the first time, used the opportunity to highlight the efforts of some Nigerian youths who have used technology to contribute towards the fight against COVID-19.

“Strength in adversity – As we rise against the challenges thrown up by the Coronavirus pandemic, there are young and innovative Nigerians developing and contributing innovative/tech solutions to confront Covid-19,” Osinbajo posted.

This is the first time Yemi Osinbajo, would be speaking on the coronavirus outbreak.

A Professor of Law, Osinbajo is a better orator than his boss, Buhari, who made several gaffes while speaking to Nigerians on Covid-19 – notably when he said “Cofik one-nine” in a pre-recorded broadcast.

“Their effort, HACK COVID19 Call Center, is collaborating with the Presidential Task Force, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) and other stakeholders to deliver relevant, real-time, cutting-edge public health responses

“Today, I and the Director-General (DG) of NCDC, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu participated in a Google Hangout organized by this group of young Nigerians

“They exemplify that quintessential Nigerian spirit of resilience and strength in adversity. And because of their efforts and many others, including you, capped by the Grace of God, NIGERIA WILL BEAT COVID-19”
