The Governor of Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde has just announced that he has tested positive to Coronavirus infection, OYOGist.com reports.
The Governor broke the news on Monday 30th of March, 2020, via his official Twitter page, where announced that he’ll remain in self-isolation while he recovers.
Governor Seyi Makinde, upon receiving the result of his COVID-19 test, has appointed the Chief Medical Director of University College Hospital, UCH as the new head of the Oyo State Covid-19 taskforce.
“I just received my COVID-19 confirmation test result. It is POSITIVE. I am asymptomatic and will continue to self-isolate,” Seyi Makinde posted on Monday evening.
“I have designated Prof Temitope Alonge, former Chief Medical Director of the University College, Ibadan, as the Head of COVID-19 Task Force while I recover fully. Please continue to comply with all the directives from the COVID-19 Task Force. Stay home, stay safe.”
The Governor was the initial head of the Oyo State COVID-19 task force.
Recall that the Governor revealed during his Saturday Tweetchat that he would be self-isolating after a person he came in contact with tested positive to Coronavirus.
