OYOGist.com has learned of an explosion that went off in Akure and was felt by residents of other cities close to the town. The explosion was heard around 12:30 am to 1 am on Saturday morning, the 28th of March 2020.
Here’s what we know about the explosion that happened in Akure.
It was felt in other places…
The blast was felt beyond Akure as residents of neighboring towns including Owo, Ondo and other nearby towns reported hearing a loud sound that lasted for minutes.
No, it isn’t the Asteroid
Many have also falsely claimed that what residents of Akure heard on Saturday morning was the Asteroid hitting the town. See those making that claim below:
Here’s some information on the Asteroid:
The Asteroid expected to land on April 29th, 2020 (not in March) which is code-named Asteroid 52768 is the biggest asteroid to fly by the earth in the year 2020. The asteroid will be flying at a very safe distance from the earth, which is calculated to be some four million miles away – that’s more than 16 times the distance of the moon to earth.
Secondly given the size of the asteroid, which is about 59 km2, the asteroid hitting Akure will definitely cause more severe damage such as craters, earthquakes, and radiation that would be felt beyond Akure.
Finally, as is said earlier, the asteroid is not anywhere near landing soon and will be at a very safe distance from earth.
Could the explosion be a blast from an explosive device?
Some reports have claimed that the explosion that was heard in Akure was from an explosive device that went off while being transported in a vehicle.
While OYOGist.com is yet to independently verify that fact, it could be the closest possibility to the truth of what went down in Akure.
We will keep you updated on this as new information concerning the Akure explosion is discovered.

Call me if you want:08166490335
Was there police killed and people inside a church at 1am? It sounded odd they mentioned people in church killed at 1am.
If they tell you it will land in April …. This is March ending, it is very much possible
Also it might have broken out from the big asteroid. Which the force in movement (speed) can also make it to reduce in size.
Do your research well,
1. if it was an explosion that is as heavy as that my guy somebody will surely die.
2. Where is the car.
3. Where are the people that see the car ( they should talk on TV)
NASA has been following this since. They want you to believe this to reduce panic.
