OYOGist.com has learned that in response to the growing rate of the pandemic outbreak and in a bid to contain it quickly, the governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced restriction policies on all businesses with exception to those that provide essential services which includes bar and clubs.
This enforcement was carried out today with security officers of the Lagos State Task Force moving around places to places to enforce a total lockdown and n a recent vidoe that emerged online, one of the places viisited by the security officers is a bar whose name and location are yet to be known.
However, what is most disturbing is that the officers in the video were destroying the bottles of beer and pushing the cartons away flagrantly with no view of the Bar owners in sight.

The wreckless manner in which the bottles of beer were being pushed away did not sit well with many people. Even though, the lockdown is neccesary to help contain the pandemic, enforcement of lockdown should not be synonymous to destruction of properties.
With the unacceptable act displayed today, one really has to start asking how Nigeria will be in some weeks time when the lockdown would have a more drastic effect and approach. Considering the record of Nigerian security officers when it comes to abuse of power. It is necessary for citizens and the government to start calling them to order before the issue gets out of hand.
