Spanish football coach, Francisco Garcia has passed away after suffering from leukemia following exposure to the novel coronavirus, which led to him being rushed to the hospital, OYOGist.com has learned.
The Atletico Portada Alta player was 21 when he passed away. He died on Sunday after a test report confirmed that he was positive for the Covid-19 last week, Goal.com reports.
Franciso Garcia was reportedly taken to the Regional Hospital of Malaga for treatment after his test results showed that he was positive of the coronavirus.
His symptoms were severe. Francisco is the fifth young patient to die of the disease that has been reported to kill more elderly than youths.
An official statement that was released by his club, Atletico Portada Alta reads: “We want to express our deepest condolences to the family, friends and close friends of our coach Francisco Garcia who has left us, unfortunately, today.
“Now what do we do without you, Francis? You were always there with us at Portada or wherever you were needed, helping out. How can we keep covering all those kilometres in the league?
“We don’t know how, but we will surely do it for you.
“We will not forget you, rest in peace, phenomenon. Until forever.”
