Nike, a major luxury fashion brand, has entered into a partnership with Nigeria to create a new iconic national jersey for the country’s football team, the Super Eagles.
This is coming two years after the brand introduced new fresh designs for the team in 2018.
The new collection that’s set to help Nigeria make waves in 2020 has a brand new home kit that blends with the traditional appeal of the agbada. The colourful pattern on the jersey was drawn by hand which represents Nigeria’s cultural love for family and nobility.
The jersey features the crest of Nigeria in the center, with the trademark Nike Swoosh embedded below it. Beneath that is the player’s number in larger print.
The jersey features the colloquial name of Nigeria “Naija” inside the neck, and on the back of the socks.
This new design will feature alongside a new collection that will include vests, dresses, a poncho and more.
