The new Governor of Imo State, Governor Hope Uzodinma, who was sworn in as the Executive Governor of the State by the Supreme Court after it annulled the election of Emeke Ihedioha, has ordered the probe of the past two governors of the state.
Hope Uzodinma gave the order to probe the tenures of Imo State’s immediate past governors Emeke Ihedioha and Rochas Okorocha hours after been sworn in as the governor of Imo State.
This order was issued just 24hrs after taking the post as the Executive Governor of Imo State on Wednesday 15 January 2020.
Recall that Emeke Ihedioha won the seat of the Office of the Governor of Imo State after winning the March 9, 2019, gubernatorial election, with the Independent Electoral Commission canceling 388 polling units. The Supreme court on Tuesday 14 January 2020 ruled that INEC did not have the provisions to cancel those polling centers and thus declared Hope Uzodinma the Governor of the State.
After the Supreme Court pronounced Hope Uzodinma the Governor of Imo State, Okorocha has pledged to support Uzondinma’s administration.
