Prince Harry and wife Meghan, both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made an announcement to step down from royal family duties
The royals made the announcement on their official Instagram account. In the announcement, they said, they have “intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family, and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty.”
This is an unexpected turn, notwithstanding the fact that their presence in the Royal Family has continued to reduce since the welcoming of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son Prince Archie.
The Royal couple also announced that they would spend time rotating between the Kingdom and Canada, where they are expected to be living when away from Britain.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family, and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.
