According to reports, early morning around 9 am on Friday 27 December 2019 at MMA1 Lagos, a man was seen emerging from a bush and running into a taxying Air Peace plane heading for Owerri.
The aircraft with flight number P472252 was almost at the takeoff threshold, making it extremely risky for both the aircraft and its passengers and the man.
The man was said to be around his twenties. It is unclear if the man was unaware that the flight was not an international flight.
On a couple of occasions, stowaways have reportedly boarded an international bound aircraft with the hope of making it to Europe or America with the flight. Most of the time, these people have somehow managed to hide in the cargo area or the landing gear compartment of the aircraft.
This would be the first time a person is attempting to literarily catch a moving flight in hopes of traveling with it.
A spokesperson for AirPeace said the man believed the flight was headed overseas when he was questioned.
