As this decade raps up, we’re looking back into those that have left their marks in their respective fields as we celebrate their achievements throughout the decade. And one man that stands out among his peers in the sports world is Floyd Mayweather.
The boxing champion and promoter came in at the top of the list of the highest-paid athletes of the decade according to Forbes magazine. Floyd took the top spot with the total earnings of $915 million, just a little shy of a billion dollars.
Other athletes that made the list include football champion Ronaldo who placed second after Mayweather with earnings of $800 million, followed closely by football forward Messi who himself earned $750 million in the decade.
To create the list, Forbes reviewed the earnings that ten of the highest-paid sportsmen make from their endeavors in sports.
“Forbes’ annual rankings of top-earning athletes looks at salaries, prize money, bonuses, endorsements, appearance fees and licensing income,” the Forbes article said.
These athletes have gone to prove that if there’s anywhere that the money is at, it is in sports. See the list of all the top-earners of the decade and what they made.
