Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, this afternoon 13 December 2019, signed into law the Oyo State Financial Crimes Corruption Bill.
The bill, which is the State Governor’s effort at curbing corruption at government level within the state gives the agency powers to discharge its duties.
The governor said, “The domestication of anti-corruption law in Oyo State is not meant to witch-hunt anyone but to ensure transparency and accountability at all levels of governance.”
Oyo State would be the first state in the Federation to have its own anti-corruption agency.
