Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has reiterated his commitment to anti-corruption in the state. The governor participated in a solidarity walk with officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan Zonal Office, earlier today.
As part of his commitment to tackle corruption in the state, Makinde said he was going to assent to the Oyo State Financial Crimes Commission Bill this week, of December 9, 2019.
The governor also used the occasion to sensitize the public on the importance of supporting the government in its fight against corruption. See his statement below.
“The fight against corruption is the responsibility of all of us, as citizens. It is important that if we see corrupt practices in any sphere of government, we say something to the authorities.
“We, in turn, should not engage in corrupt practices. Our administration has shown our commitment to minimize corruption and its impact in Oyo State, by transmitting the Oyo State Financial Crimes Commission Bill which was recently passed into law by the Oyo State House of Assembly and will receive my assent this week.
