After releasing the activist, the Department of State Services(DSS) has paid the fine of N100,000 to Sowore. Sowore’s lawyer, Femi Falana, who confirmed to the media that his client has been released also said the DSS has paid the fine.
Recall that earlier Thursday morning, the judge presiding over the case DSS vs. Sowore and Olawale Mandate, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu fined the DSS one hundred thousand naira for keeping Sowore in detention after meeting his bail conditions. She ordered the DSS to release him within 24hrs.
He was released on Thursday evening, and the DSS has paid the sum of one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) as ordered by the judge.
