JUST IN: US Capitol on lockdown as vehicle rams into security barrier, injuring two policemen

The US Capitol building has been placed under lockdown after a vehicle rammed into security barriers and injured two policemen, OYOGist.com has gathered.

According to Capitol Police, a suspect is now under custody after reports of someone “ramming a vehicle” and injuring two officers.

The suspect was shot and was arrested by the Capitol Police.

The suspect was taken to the hospital alongside the two injured police officers for treatment, the police revealed.

The Capitol building as well as surrounding streets have been placed on lockdown after warning of “external security threats” was issued.

This incident comes barely three months after the Capitol building was besieged on the 6th of January by a mob who injured several and killed 5, who included police officers and civilians.
