Chad President Idriss Deby dies on the frontline

According to sources, the long-serving President of Chad, President Idriss Deby has died from injuries he sustained on the frontling, OYOGist.com has gathered.

The death of the President followed several attacks on the north of the country by rebels. Idriss Deby was the ruler of the West African country for over 30 years until the time of his death.

The rebels of the Front for Change and Concord in Chad (Front Pour I’Alternance et La Concorde au Tchad) (FACT) had in an earlier statement made a day before said that Deby was on the run after sustaining an injury.

The President was re-elected for his sixth term in office on Monday, the 19th of April 2021, making his death only days after a re-election.
