Oyogist.com has learnt that the United Arab Emirates, (Emirates Airlines) host country, has agreed to the demands of the federal government in removing the requirement of Rapid Antigen test for outbound Nigerian passengers.

Recall the Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, had earlier disclosed that the federal government spent a whopping N100 billion in developing the aviation sector from 2015 till date.

The UAE in response, directed that all outbound passengers from Nigeria travelling to Dubai on Emirates must take test, which the federal government rejected, this led to FG, temporarily Suspending the Emirates Airlines from operating in the country over its continuous refusal to fly passengers without a pre-boarding rapid diagnostic test (RTD).

The UAE has now agreed to the demands, a letter issued by the airline shows.

The letter stated that the UAE has decided to remove the requirement for a Rapid Antigen test at the airports in Nigeria while demanding reciprocity from Nigeria.
