According to reports reaching Oyogist.com, the Oyo State Government has partnered with a start up bike sharing company, Awa Bikes NG, which would deploy 60 bikes meant for exclusive usage within the Oyo State Secretariat.

The initiative would come with some benefits as it aims to reduce carbon emissions caused by cars and also reduce the wear and tear of infrastructure by providing mobility around the secretariat.

The bike sharing scheme would most likely be extended to tertiary institutions and various communities in the state.

The Oyo State Government Reportedly paid all expenses for the administrative fee for the pilot scheme, Oyogist.com learnt further.
