Namaste Wahala: Bollywood and Nollywood culture mash-up

Netflix’s latest big movie from Nollywood, Namaste Wahala is a fusion of two cultures, bringing Nigeria’s rich culture (as seen from Nollywood’s lens) and India’s culture together.

Namaste Wahala was initially scheduled to hit cinemas on the 24th of August, 2020, but was released on Netflix on the 14th of February, 2021 (Valentine’s day). This perhaps is because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 1 hour 46 minutes long movie is set in Lagos, Victoria Island. It portrays the story of two lovers from two different worlds fighting to win the approval of their parents to be together.

Namaste Wahala is a high-quality production flick.

But it has some cringe elements and stories that seem forced into it. The acting is almost great, with the main characters often appearing to force themselves to fit their roles. The opening part where they both “bump into each other” or act to “bump into each other” on the beach and instantly fall in love is the most outrageously ridiculous scene I’ve ever seen.

Namaste Wahala is a comedy that’s trying to be both a love story and an activism show at the same time. This, in my view, is why the show came a little short of expectations.

Production-wise, Namaste Wahala is a successful film, and was able to keep audiences wanting more. The closing part, where Raj’s mom and Didi’s dad.

Overall, Namaste Wahala is an enjoyable film that has done what hasn’t been done successfully below. Enjoy it and don’t take it seriously.
