Breaking: Prof. George Obiozor, Emerges Ohanaeze Ndigbo President General

According to report reaching oyogist.com, a former Nigerian Ambassador to the United States, Israel, and Cyprus, Prof. George Obiozor, has reportedly emerged as the President of the Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

Prof. George Obiozor, emerged victorious as the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, after other contending candidates for the position of the President General boycotted the election which was held at Dan Anyim stadium in Owerri, Imo state on Sunday.

It was also learn that one of the one of the top contestant vying the post of Secretary-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Chuks Ibegbu, announced his withdrawal from the election.

Chief Chuks Ibegbu, had faulted the conduct of the election as he claimed the electric conduct of the election was faulty and lacked the proper democratic rules.

“Following obvious distortion of the proper democratic rules of engagement and feeling the pulse of the Igbo Nation, I hereby exclude myself from the Nwodo led Ohanaeze election.

“Though I purchased the nomination form at an unacceptable sum of N300,000, regrettably the process was full of manipulation and the outcome would not be acceptable to Ndigbo,” Chief Chuks Ibegbu said.
