Zamfara First Lady Urges Residents To Always Report Gender Based Violence

According to report reaching oyogist.com, the Zamfara state first lady Hajiya Aisha Matawalle, has urged the zamfara state indigenes to always report cases of Gender Based Violence e.g rape to the relevant authorities.

Mrs. Aisha made this known while giving a statement on Gender Based Violence (GBV) at the Government Secondary and Primary Schools GBV campaign.

The Governor’s wife expressed her concerns over the increase in the number of rape cases in the state. She also stated that most of the rape cases involving underage (children) were unreported.

Mrs. Matawalle also urged for the urgent intervention of stakeholder in the state while making it known that the Gov. Bello Matawalle led Zamfara state government would not keep mum on Gender Based Violences in the state.

The First Lady noted that the most victims of Gender Based Violence are the less privileged families thereby call on various state agencies to help in the curb of Gender Based Violence (GBV).

“This is a serious issue of concern that needed urgent intervention from all stakeholders.”

“Women and other less privileged families are mostly victims of GBV, therefore, there is need for urgent intervention in tackling the problems,’’ Mrs. Matawalle stated.
