According to reports reaching Oyogist.com, the Minister of Information and Culture in Nigeria, Lai Mohammed has denied all allegations labled against Nigeria by the United States of engaging in systematic religious freedom violations.

While responding to the US Claims, Lai Mohammed said in a statement that “Nigeria does not engage in religious freedom violation, neither does it have a policy of religious persecution,”

The minister further stated that the Country Upholds and guards religious freedom as enshrined in the country’s constitution and “takes seriously any infringements in this regard”.

Recall earlier yesterday, Oyogist.com reported that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo elected Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” for religious freedom, the rare inclusion of a fellow democracy in the US effort to shame nations into action.
