Just In: 80 Abducted Islamiyya Students, 4 Others Rescued In Katsina

According to report reaching oyogist.com, the recently abducted 80 Hizburrahim Islamiyya students in Katsina state, have reportedly been rescued by the Nigerian Police Force.

The students were abducted in Mahuta village, by armed bandits while on their way back from a Maulid celebration, in Unguwar Al-Kasim village.

The successful rescue operation was made known in a statement released by the spokesman of the Police command in Katsina, SP Gambo Isah, on Sunday morning. He noted that the Katsina police command swung into action immediately after getting a distress call that some Hizburrahim Islamiyya students had been kidnapped by the armed bandits.

According to the statement made by the police spokesman, he stated; “At about 2200hrs on Saturday, a distress call was received by DPO Dandume, that some Islamiyya Students of Hizburrahim Islamiyya, Mahuta village, Dandume LGA of Katsina state, numbering about Eighty (80), while on their way back from Maulud occasion celebrated at Unguwan Alkasim village, Dandume to Mahuta village, were accosted by bandits who had already kidnapped four(4) persons and rustled twelve (12) cows from Danbaure village, Funtua LGA, trying to escape into the forest.

“On receipt of the report, the DPO led Operations Puff Adder, Sharan Daji and Vigilante group to the area and engaged the bandits into a fierce gun duel.

“Subsequently, the teams succeeded in dislodging the bandits and rescued all the 84 kidnapped victims and recovered all the twelve rustled cows,” he stated.

He also noted that the police are still very much around the forest in a bid to arrest the perpetrators of the dastard act and also to recover dead bodies of the criminals.
