According to report reaching oyogist.com, the Governor of River state, Nyesom Wike, has condemned the politicisation of Nigeria’s national security issues as he claims that the interferences of politics in security issues has made the fight against insecurity difficult.

Governor Wike made this known yesterday at the state government house while playing host to the Prof. Ango-Abdullahi led Northern Elders Forum, NEF, who came to the state to see their people on the aftermath of the #Endsars protests.

While speaking with the Northern Elders Forum, Gov. Wike said that he had raised so many alarms on the high increasing rate of crime in the country but regretted doing that due to the fact that the Nigerian federal government politicized it.

He also noted that the federal government had paid a deaf ear to the brutality reports of the FSARS operatives in the country despite various complaints and allegations from the members of the public.

Gov. Wike also seized the opportunity to remind the government of its responsibility stating that; “the primary responsibility of every government is to make sure that life and property are being protected. When that is lost, then there is nothing like governance again.”
