Oyogist.com has learnt that the NINA Plastics and Prosper Plastics Companies were sealed off yesterday by the Kano State Environmental Mobile Court.

The reason for their suspension was for not participating in the monthly environmental sanitation exercise.

Chief magistrate, Yusuf-Suleiman while giving the order for the factories to be sealed said the factories operated without minding the given environmental sanitation hours in contravention of sections 61 and 104 of the National Environmental Laws.

A fine of N500,000 was imposed on both of the factories.

“The factories will re-open after complying with the law by tendering a written clearance from the State Ministry of Environment,“ he said.
