According to reaching oyogist.com, four (4) cases of newly discovered Covid-19 variant believed to be very infectious has been discovered in Madrid, Spain.
This was confirmed by the Spanish authorities during a news conference on Saturday, while stating that the new Covid-19 variant cases involved people who recently arrived from the United Kingdom (Britain).
According to a statement from the regional government’s deputy health chief, Antonio Zapatero, he said that “the patients are not seriously ill, we know that this strain is more transmissible, but it does not cause more serious illness.
“There is no need for alarm,” Zapatero added.
Zapatero also noted that there has been another three (3) suspected cases of the Covid-19 variant as the test results would be available on Tuesday or Wednesday.
The discovery of the new covid-19 variant reportedly made over 50 countries to impose a traveling ban on the United Kingdom as the second wave of the pandemic takes a toll.
