Joe Parkinson is the Africa Bureau Chief of ‘The Wall Street Journal’ and is currently based in Johannesburg. The Pulitzer Prize finalist has weighed in on the dealings between the US and Nigeria after President Buhari issued his congratulations to the president-elect of the United States, Joe Biden, oyogist.com reports.

Buhari took to his official twitter account to offer his congratulations yesterday, just moments after Biden was declared winner.

Joe Parkinson went ahead to state that although Buhari was one of the first African leaders to congratulate Biden, some of his advisors privately hoped for a Trump victory. He said this before going on to give a detailed and outstanding reasons.
